Somewhat against my better judgement, I decided to get rid of Suse and install Ubuntu. Anyways, whenever I try to boot into the computer, I get the message No RGB Input and the monitor goes blank. However, not all is lost, before it goes into that, I have the option to hit esc and get into the grub menu. If I select the recovery option, it will boot to a command line and I can do a startx to get into the GUI.

Now the question is how to I make it just automagically get into the GUI rather than me having to do startx?

Edit xorg.conf and replace Driver "ati" with Driver "radeon"

Is there a specific location in the xorg.conf file that specifies the startup resolution or is xorg.conf the wrong place to be looking for this solution?

Section "Screen"

You will find multiple entries simillar to the below:

SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768"
EndSubSection

What video driver are you using?

I'm using the Radeon driver. I did manage a minor success when I finally got my monitors to display in 1280x1024 but I still cant get it to boot into Gnome.

I think I'm going to put this project on hold a few days while I figure out what I want to do with my whole computer situation.
