I guess I jumped the gun and posted a question before I introduced myself. I'm Speedy and I was referred over here by Windsor.
A little about me, I've got a degree in Network Administration, I'm currently working help desk for a huge e-discovery company, and I'm a recent Linux convert.
I just switched over to openSuse10.2 about 3 weeks ago and I love it so far, but I realize I've forgotten a lot since I took the Linux course last year. I'm hoping to get at the very least my Linux + Cert by this time next year, so I'm diving headfirst into it. I've gotten help from SPD before and I'm hoping that he and everyone else will bear with me while I ask lots of questions so I can take in everything possible about Linux.
Thanks for everything. I'm going to add a link here from my site and forum as well as I think it would be beneficial.
So is that how you got the nickname Speedy? No problem, I do the same thing also. I am pretty much a self taught Linux Geek, and have been around computers since 1978. I threw out the map a long time ago. Now I go my own direction!
Actually I got the nickname because I used to walk really fast. Recently I reacquired it because I picked up on the stuff we were getting trained on here at work in about half the time it takes most people.
It's good to see that you're accepting of people who ask a lot of questions. It seems you've been doing this since before I was even a gleam in my parent's eyes.
