Aviation Information System

You can find out the operating status of the nation's largest airports and get delay information from the FAA on your wireless device, pager, phone, PDA or e-mail in real-time, as changes happen.

You must have an email account
To subscribe to this service, you must have a valid e-mail account. This account will allow you to manage your preferences: you can select the airports about which you wish to receive information and set the message length that your wireless device or e-mail client allows.

How to Register for updates

1. You will need to register in the Aviation Information System (AIS) and create an account. To create an account, provide us with your e-mail address and create a new password. Do not provide us with your e-mail account's password; create a new password.

2. After you register, we will send a confirmation number to the e-mail address you provide.

3. After you get the confirmation email, go to the login page. You must enter your confirmation number before you can set your preferences and receive delay notifications. Follow the prompts to set your preferences.

Note: When you set your preferences, we suggest that you only subscribe for the airports that are of interest to you. If you choose to receive messages for all airports, you will get a lot of messages.

Each time you plan a trip, you can set your preferences to the airports that you will be using for the trip. This will provide you with the information you need without overwhelming you with messages.

Timeliness of Delay Messages

The timeliness with which you receive message about airport delays depends on how promptly your e-mail service provider sends e-mail to you. If your e-mail service provider batches e-mail or is slow in sending e-mail, this will have an effect on how quickly you get delay notifications.

I threw out the map a long time ago. Now I go my own direction!
