Somewhat against my better judgement, I decided to get rid of Suse and install Ubuntu. Anyways, whenever I try to boot into the computer, I get the message No RGB Input and the monitor goes blank. However, not all is lost, before it goes into that, I have the option to hit esc and get into the grub menu. If I select the recovery option, it will boot to a command line and I can do a startx to get into the GUI.
Now the question is how to I make it just automagically get into the GUI rather than me having to do startx?
Is there a specific location in the xorg.conf file that specifies the startup resolution or is xorg.conf the wrong place to be looking for this solution?
I'm using the Radeon driver. I did manage a minor success when I finally got my monitors to display in 1280x1024 but I still cant get it to boot into Gnome.
